If that can’t make your TBird or Duron stable, nothing will. Super stable when overclocked. But they ain’t nearly sufficiently [H]ard, so their results must be taken with the appropriate grain of salt. Among them is Microstar, who seemingly never stops and is constantly releasing new products. But for those of us striving to achieve [H]ardness the likes of which haven’t been seen since the dawn of time, you’d be best off to save your pennies for a few more days until we see some retail KTA solutions on the shelves.

All trademarks used are properties of their respective owners. Supports 3 pin unbuffered DIMM using 6 memory banks, maximum memory size of 1. Sure this is not practical since most processors cannot handle the heat, but everyone knows that changing the multiplier for AMD processors is a much better way to overclock the CPUs than by just increasing the FSB. However, once I had the board “burned in”, the opposite of what you’d expect occured.

Previous Post Just another way of cooling: I already said that the K7T Pro2’s a bad ass motherboard. Super stable when overclocked.

[H]ardOCP: MSI K7T Pro Review

I want full adjustment capability. There was only one gripe I had and that was with the placements of those big caps near the CPU socket.

Introduction If you compare the rate companies push out new products nsi to that of a year ago, you will be amazed at how much faster it is now. The most important being multiplier changing and Core tweak.

I found this to be quite bizzarre.

And I want it all. But it’s not value at the expense of performance or features. Hell, pick up two or three of ’em. With that out of the way, and now that I’m done bangin’ on the [H]ard drum, let’s talk about the Pro2’s abilities to push our cpu’s to the edge.

With that said, I wouldn’t buy it, nor would I recommend that any j7t you, the overclocking minions of the [H]ard OCP buy it. You’ll be hard pressed to find another motherboard from any manufacturers offering this much stuff for so little.

This doesn’t really change much. The only thing I can think of is moving those big caps further away from the CPU socket but that is minor. This single device makes finding and solving initial system problems extremely useful. Also the motherboard box turns into k7tt calendar! You would expect to pay a lot more for this type of motherboard.

The K7T Pro2 is a very good motherboard. Mind you the caps are far enough away from the CPU socket that it won’t interfere with the installation of really big heatsinks like those from Alpha or Global Win.

Built in ATA support is a great feature to have, especially if you don’t want to purchase a separate controller card. And MSI is definitely to be congratulated and thanked for implementing them all.

With all this success, Microstar could have relaxed a bit, but instead they have chosen to take another step forward by releasing yet another new Socket-A motherboard. Post Your Comment Please log in or sign up to comment.

This time it is not a whole new design, but a revision of the K7T Pro. As you can see, the Multi-Media benchmark is right up there with the best of the best. Can we say KTA boys and girls? Nearly everything is controlled by the BIOS.
